The annual festival is sponsored by the Lake County Symphony Association (LCSA). Proceeds go to support LCSA's fine music activities, including in-school music programs for students, scholarships, concerts and underwriting of the outstanding Lake County Symphony.

The LCSA would like to thank our 2019 "Best of Class" Sponsors: David Noland of HD Video Creations, WestAmerica Bank (Lakeport), and Running Creek Casino; also thanks to our 2019 Bronze Sponsors: Community First Credit Union (Lakeport), and Guy Strohmeier's Auto Center!

A panel of wine experts will judge the wide variety of wines submitted by skilled home winemakers.

Along with the many Lake County home winemakers, amateurs are invited from nearby counties to participate.

They will be joined by several of Lake County's premium commercial wineries, pouring samples of their wines.

Lakeport restaurants and other food purveyors will offer food. Martin Scheel will once again serve as master of ceremonies.

A major silent auction featuring dozens of valuable prizes supplied by Lake County businesses and individuals also will be offered.

The festival will be open to the public from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., but participants including not only home wine makers, but also arts and crafts people and commercial wineries should have their booth setups completed by 11 am. Space assignments are made by event coordinator Jim Perry and will be available at the main LCSA booth by 9 a.m.

Along with the judge's ribbons, home wine makers also will be eligible for the "Peoples Choice" awards, determined by ballots submitted by attendees. Awards are also given for best decorated booth and best wine label.

Amateur Wine Makers are encouraged to enter the Wine Competition prior to the Festival.

Note that all entrants for judging must participate in the festival with a tasting booth.

The competition is open to everyone regardless of location. We'd love to see your entry this year. Enter for the chance to win great ribbons, get valuable feedback, and of course, bragging rights.

A 750-milliliter bottle of each varietal to be judged must be delivered to the drop-off location at the Lakeport Yacht Club 15 5th Street, 2 blocks North of Library Park on the water. Please deliver your entries between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM the day of the event. Download an entry form and bring with your submission, and download a Beer and Winemakers Booth Application Form from the sidebar and mail it in.
