Lake County Home Wine Makers Festival-Lakeport, CA

Event Date: June 20, 2020 : 12:00 PM-5:00 PM

Each year for the last 19 years, amateur wine makers and home brewers gather in June to offer the public tastes of their best efforts in the Home Wine and Beer Festival and they'll do it again this year on Saturday, June 20th. Along with the amateurs, many of Lake County's leading commercial wineries and brewers will also sample their products, giving visitors the chance to taste and test some of the best beverages the County has to offer, all in one place at one time. Check out a video of the 2019 event, created by David Noland of HD Video Creations.

The event takes place from 12 PM to 5 PM at Lakeport's Library Park, and also includes dozens of vendors offering arts, crafts, agricultural products and food. It's sponsored by non-profit Lake County Symphony Association as a fundraiser, and all proceeds go to support the group's music activities including the acclaimed Lake County Symphony and Youth Orchestras, as well as music teaching and scholarship programs.

Admission to The Winefest, as it's been abbreviated, is $25 per person advance purchase or $30 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased through
Eventbrite. or select advance ticket outlets, shown on the sidebar. Each ticket includes a commemorative wine glass.

Most amateurs will have entered their wines and beers in advance for judging and results will be announced during the Festival. In addition ticket holders will get the chance to vote for their favorites in the popular People's Choice awards.

Since it's sponsored by a music organization there will be music throughout the Festival provided by Lake County's David Neft Duo, keyboardist David Neft and drummer Steve DuBois. A wine raffle of an assortment of Lake County wines and a Silent Auction produced by volunteers from the Symphony Association, will also be offered.

Children and leashed pets are welcome, although tastings are restricted to those 21 years and older.
Also arrangements have been made with several local lodging businesses for discounts for Winefest attendees.
